About Shelly

Shelly Harrison

I am embarking on my 14th year of wedding photography. I love my job. I love photographing beautiful things and beautiful moments. I love that I can help you remember all of the fine details of your wedding. I still cry too!!

I think my approach to wedding photography is a much laid back one. I need you to be yourself when you are with me so we can get genuine photos. I want you to remember moments, not poses. I think people are comfortable with me and are able to relax and have fun. Even those grooms who tell me “I hate getting my picture taken!” are pleasantly surprised when it’s all over.

One of my favorite parts of my job is the relationships I build with people. I believe that we have a lot to learn from one another and our experiences are unique lessons that we can share with the world. I always have said my goal is to be better tomorrow than I am today and it’s why the time spent with my couples is so important to me.

When you book me you will not only get 14 years of wedding experience and 800+ weddings (can I tell you….a lot of things happen in 800 weddings!!) but you will also get someone who is willing to work with who you are. It’s your unique awesomeness that makes me pick up my camera year after year. I want to tell the story of your relationship and yours is uniquely different from anyone else’s. You are the one who makes my creativity come to life.

You should know that I love Starbucks. It’s my favorite place to meet!  People relax and open up over coffee. In our time together we will probably discuss the fact that I love the Buffalo Sabres and 80’s music. A lot of people laugh and a lot of people bond with me over those loves!!

Shelly HarrisonThe most important people in my life are my kids and my husband. My entire universe revolves around my children Gillyan and Alexander. With every decision I make I have them in mind. I would not be the person I am without my kids. They are the ones who make me strive to be better and do better. I am overwhelmingly proud of both of them. My husband is my rock. I say that with the utmost sincerity. He is always there encouraging me and supporting me. And he’s been my assistant many times. He’s the one I trust the most with my business.

If you’ve made it to the bottom of this page…thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read this as I assure you it took me forever to write it! I welcome you to my site and hope that you enjoy browsing my portfolio. I look forward to your email and invite you out for coffee. I would love to talk about the details of your wedding day and would be honored to be a part of it.
